Raven: To seek, plunder, or prey. To devour ravenously. To seize as spoil.
I am Raven.
I knew what it meant to fight my way through life.
To be the victim, the spoil, the prey.
I decided long ago I would take control of my future.
No more bug infested couches.
I decided long ago I would take control of my future.
No more bug infested couches.
No more drug-addicted mothers or absentee fathers.
No more welfare checks or moldy bread.
No more settling.
I thought I had it all figured out, a way out of the hand I’d been dealt.
Until my life got turned upside down by two very different men who look at me with mirrored lust in their eyes.
Their want is palpable, heady. Their desire makes me reckless.
I no longer know who I am or who I want.
The only thing I do know is, I am ravenous.
I no longer know who I am or who I want.
The only thing I do know is, I am ravenous.
Voracious. Intensely eager for gratification or satisfaction.
Despite the fact I know it is a disaster waiting to happen, I can’t stop it.
Despite the fact I know it is a disaster waiting to happen, I can’t stop it.
I’m afraid I will never be sated.

Review
Rating:
This is one of those that the title had my attention and I want to read it. Another new-to-me author and so going in, no expectations and no anything.
The first couple of chapters were actually a meh for me, but I was curious enough to continue reading and I was glad I did. Since this is another case of going in blind, I'm glad I did.
Raven is an escort, whose new to the job, so she could save up money and get her sister to live with her. She has a lot of issues with her life and circumstances, but that she's strong and would do anything for her sister.
Brecken grew up with an inferiority complex with his twin brother, never feeling good enough or haven't had that connection with anyone, a feeling that left him out of sorts as though nobody gets him.
I think what I like about this was it Breckwas kinda stalkerish at first and so on how they eventually meet was kinda funny but that it was filled with anticipation and speculations on how Raven would actually react.
Although it's quite different since the characters actually spent more time apart than together, the character development was good and the meeting weren't forced as well as the random circumstances just felt like a push of fate that the flow of the story is quite refreshing.
This was a good story that I enjoy, something after I've overcome the meh feeling I became invested in and left me feeling unable to let go until I'm able to finish reading it. Can't wait for what's in store for Porter!
“How do you read my mind?”
"Don't you know yet? I see you, Raven."
